What Goes Up!......

The Hobbyking Blanik made a first attempt at a maiden flight a few weeks ago in less than perfect, gusty conditions. All went well during pre flight checks and launch but on climb out the glider started to pitch up and enter a stall. Pitch control was very mushy, aircraft stalled in a vertical climb, nosed over and headed for Terra Firma at a great rate of knots. The wing started to generate lift on the way down just in a nick of time and she levelled off with a glancing blow in the long grass at the end of the strip with minimal, repairable damage. Closer inspection showed that the elevator servo had come adrift from it's mounting. All has been repaired and maiden flight will be re attempted soon.
